Twin D T4 Shaker

With the Twin D T4 Shaker, scattering and sweeping become a thing of the past. This innovative system shakes and captures nuts directly into the machine frame, streamlining the harvest process. For growers transitioning from conventional methods, the Twin D T4 efficiently lays harvested nuts into a clean windrow, reducing ground contact and the need for sweeping.

Designed with two independent shaking heads, one for each side of the tree; the Twin D T4 efficiently shakes trees of unlimited height up to 16 inches in trunk diameter. The dual-head configuration allows growers to operate from either direction, providing flexibility when access is easier from one side of the row. Built to perform in demanding orchard conditions, the Twin D T4 works confidently on hillsides and uneven ground, and can continue operating even if one shaker head is offline.

Both heads are programmable, allowing operators to precisely control the force and duration of each shake for consistent, optimised harvest performance.

  • Second Year Trials at Kooba Station

    Kooba Station forms part of a 40,000-hectare diversified farming operation in the Riverina, incorporating cotton, wheat, livestock and an expanding almond orchard. With 1,400 hectares currently planted and a further 600 hectares in the pipeline.

  • Why Trial Shake & Catch

    “What prompted us to give Shake & Catch a go was that we had a big problem with sweeping and the immense amount of dust sweeping created.

    The first advantage was it cut our sweeping by 75%. We’d already got rid of three passes (or at least two) and we had made our conditioning passes much quicker.”

  • Beyond dust reduction - broader operational shift

    “Out of the right Shake & Catch machine, we have the clock - so we’re effectively getting the benefit of double the amount of shakers. Then the other follow-up pass is much quicker. So it takes the pressure off the existing machinery. As the trees get bigger, we’ll be contracting in the second Shake & Catch machine, so we’ll move up probably 40% of the area.”

  • Can Shake & Catch Handle Big Trees?

    Reflecting on what he’s seen internationally, Wayne notes that many of the Shake & Catch machines operating in the U.S. were working in larger trees.

    “It’s not much wider than a conventional shaker, and it’s quite a low profile going through it. We will be trimming, but not necessarily for the machine. We’ll be trimming to allow sunlight interception right down into the lower canopy”

  • Looking Forward

    While acknowledging that further evolution is required around processing and drying logistics, Wayne remains optimistic about where Shake & Catch could lead.
